12^TH ABUJA MOTOR FAIR 2010

PREAMBLE/OPENING

The 12^th edition of the Abuja Motor Fair held recently at the Eagle Square Abuja.  The event was put together by BKG Exhibitions and in its usual manner Toyota (Nigeria) Limited put up a remarkable showing at the event.

The event was declared open by the Acting President Dr Goodluck Jonathan ably represented by the Honourable Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Josephine Tapgum.

ATTRACTIONS

This year’s event featured some innovative programmes which made it a better executed programme than the previous ones. Some of them include the Fashion / Automobile Parade during the opening ceremony, the Road Show on the second to the closing ceremony day. All the participating auto brands were part of the two shows.

THE FASHION/AUTOMOBILE PARADE

This is one of the innovations added to this year’s event by the organizers. It featured representative vehicles; maximum of two, from the participating brands. Each of the representative vehicles was well decorated and the vehicles drove in a convoy in front of the dignitaries that were in attendance at the official opening. As each of the vehicles drove past the podium, a beautifully adorned model alighted from each of them while the MC read the profile of the vehicle. The New Prado and the Avensis represented the Toyota brand during the motor show. The two wonder on wheels became the cynosure of all eyes during the Parade.
