ABUJA MOTOR FAIR 2008

OPENING CEREMONY
The Fair as usual came with its characteristic pomp and pageantry in terms of participation of auto companies and overwhelming visit to the Fair by the Abuja residents particularly the core target audience.
 It was declared open by the representative of Minister of Commerce and Industry, Engineer Gana, ably assisted by the duo of the Director General National Automotive Council Engineer Aminu Jalal and the representative of the Comptroller General of Customs, Mr. Segun Agbaje and other top officials of government as well as high profile individual from the corporate world including Mr. Ademola Ade-Ojo Director Toyota Nigeria Limited, Mr. Bunmi Onafowokan Director of Finance who represented the Managing Director Toyota Nigeria Limited and Chief Lanre Shittu, Chairman Lanre Shittu Motors among others.

PARTICIPANTS
Some of the companies which participated in the Fair include Toyota Nigeria Limited, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Mercedes Benz, BMW, Ford, Peugeot, Kia, Cherry and Brilliance Autos.
In addition, some finance companies were also present to offer finance opportunities to customers who desired to purchase new vehicles. All came with full array of their products attempting to outwit one another
The Fair lasted for 9 days (14th to 22nd May, 2008)at its usual venue the Eagle Square, Abuja.

TOYOTA’S PARTICIPATION
Toyota Nigeria Limited realizing the marketing potential often offered by the Fair mustered its full arsenal and put up another brilliant showing at the event. Our participation justified our pre-Fair objective of sustaining our leadership position in the indigenous auto industry as well as getting feedback from our teeming customers on our products and services. Our participation was memorable in the following ways:

Toyota paraded the highest number of vehicles: 36 in number

We had the largest display ground 1,000 sqm.

We were the only participant that put up complete display that covered the three spheres of the auto business: Sales Spares and Service

Our stand was adjudged as the MOST IMPRESSIVE of all the stands by customers

We had the largest share of visitors to the Fair: about 2,500 visitors overall visited our stand during the 9 day event.

Our ushers were the most unique on the opening ceremony day

We won the highest number of awards (4 awards) at the 10th Anniversary Award ceremony put together by BKG Exhibitions the organizers of the event viz: THE MOST IMPRESSIVE STAND, MOST CONSISTENT AUTO COMPANY, MOST SUPPORTIVE AUTO COMPANY and SPECIAL RECORGNITION AWARD FOR CHIEF ADE.  OJO OON Chairman Toyota Nigeria Limited.
